Who can use Willa?

Willa is for U.S. based creative professional freelancers, influencers, and social media content creators that get paid by brands to do freelance work and paid collaborations.


Willa is currently invite-only to make sure that we can provide the best possible service and product for our existing users.

How do I get started?

Download the iOS app for iPhone. Note: You currently need an invite code to use Willa. Willa is currently only available on iOS.

How do I get an invite?

Head over to 'request invite' and answer the short questionnaire. We're doing this to control demand and make sure we can take good care of our existing users.

Do I need to have a company to use Willa?

You can, but you don't have to. Independent contractors can also use Willa. It works the same way.

Where is Willa available?

Willa is currently available in the United States. To use Willa, you need to have a permanent address in the United States, a U.S. based bank account, and a U.S. based phone number.

Who started Willa?

Willa is funded by a team of entrepreneurs with a background in finance, influencer marketing, and building popular consumer apps like Candy Crush and Spotify. We are funded by EQT Ventures and several other investors. Prior to founding Willa, the Willa founding team started and built influencer marketing agency Relatable.

Is it safe and secure to use Willa?

How much does it cost to use Willa?

We charge a small one-time fee for each invoice. The fee is 6.99%. There are no other costs. The fee is tax deductible.

Am I still paying external fees on top of your fees?

Is the money I receive a loan?

No. It's your money.

Do I pay any interest rate?

No. You only pay a one-time fee.

What happens if my client doesn’t pay at all?

You'll still get your money right away.

Where can I transfer my money?

Your funds are immediately available in your Willa account and can be transferred to your bank account or PayPal. A debit card is coming soon.

How fast is “instant?”

Immediately. Your money is available in your account as soon as your client confirm that you have worked with them. This is a safety precaution to make sure that you have sent the right amount to the right contact person.​

Can I invoice 50% upfront and 50% on delivery with Willa?

Yes, you'd simply send two separate requests. Either way, the money is available right away.

Can I invoice monthly with Willa?

Yes, you'd simply send an invoice every month. There's currently no support to schedule recurring payment requests.

How do you prevent fraud and is Willa safe to use?

I’m using PayPal today. How is this different?

Sending an invoice with PayPal is both easy and secure. It's very convenient for your client. You're charged a small fee to receive your money.


The downside is that you're left chasing down your client and assure that they pay you in time. This can cause stress, worry, and time spent that doesn't create any real value.


Willa is even easier to use and as secure as PayPal. It's even more convenient for your client.


Like PayPal, you're charged a small fee to receive your money– but the biggest difference is that your money is always available immediately. The outcome is that you never have to send another payment reminder, spend time or mental bandwidth stressing out about unpaid invoices.

What happens after I request a payment in the app?​

We deduct our fee, and the money is available in your Willa account.

​Example: Your client owes you $2,650.​

You send a request for the full amount.​

We charge a small 6.99% one-time transactional fee to settle your payment.

​$2,465 is immediately available in your Willa account.


Your client receives an email and is asked to verify that you have done work from them and that the amount is correct. They can then pay the invoice on their terms.

A gem 💎 is an invoice credit that can be applied to your next payment request to waive our small fee.

Does this cost anything for my client?

No.

How does my client pay?

Your client can pay their invoice any way they'd like. We currently offer wire transfer, PayPal, check, or card payment.

I’m based in the U.S. but my client is overseas. Can they still use Willa?

Yes.

Will my client need to install the app?

No. Your client can use their own payment process.

If my customer has their own system, how will it work with Willa?

Your client has the option to pay with a bank wire transfer, check, PayPal or debit/credit card. Your contact person can pay directly or forward the payment request to their finance team.

Do I need to convince my clients to use Willa?

No. They'll get a professional invoice sent from Willa on your behalf.

What happens if my client pays late?

You'll still get your money right away.

Do you send payment reminders?

Yes, but you're paid instantly you never have to wait to receive your money.

Do I need to follow up with my client regarding the payment?

No. Our team will verify that their details are correct and take care of all administrative work.
